If you upload a photo or artwork to Picster, you are free to sell it on other marketplaces at the same time. We do not ask you to take it down elsewhere, and we do not penalise you for listing it widely. This is a deliberate choice, not an oversight.
The logic is simple
Exclusivity agreements tend to benefit the platform more than the artist. They reduce your options, concentrate risk on one revenue stream, and give you little in return unless the platform can guarantee meaningful volume. We cannot make that guarantee — no honest marketplace can. What we can do is make the terms clear and fair so that listing here is worth your time on its own merits, without locking you in.
The basic structure: buyers purchase credits at €0.15 each (prices in Australian dollars or other currencies convert from that euro rate at the live exchange rate, so there is no hidden markup). When a sale happens, 50% of the credit value goes directly into your wallet. That split applies to every transaction, with no tiered commission that rewards seniority or punishes newer contributors.
How the money side actually works
There are no subscriptions on either side. Buyers top up once and spend when they want. Artists accumulate earnings in their wallet and request a payout through the app whenever the balance suits them — there is no minimum holding period designed to delay your money artificially.
The featured queue, which puts selected work in front of more buyers, is human-curated rather than driven purely by upload volume or ad spend. That means a strong single image can surface without you needing to flood the catalogue.
What non-exclusivity means in practice
If you already sell on other stock sites, you can add Picster without reorganising your existing catalogue. If Picster turns out to be your best-performing channel, you can lean into it. If it is a secondary earner alongside your own print shop or another agency, that is fine too. The relationship does not require you to bet everything on us.
We think this is just the honest way to operate. Holding exclusivity over someone's creative work is a significant ask, and it should come with a significant, concrete benefit — guaranteed income, a dedicated audience, something tangible. We are a growing independent marketplace, not a platform in a position to make promises like that. So we do not make them.
What we do offer:
- A transparent 50% commission on every sale, no exceptions
- Credit pricing anchored in euros with live currency conversion for international buyers
- One-time top-ups, no subscription required from buyers or contributors
- A curated featured queue that does not simply reward whoever uploads most
- In-app payout requests from your wallet, on your schedule
If that is a useful addition to how you already sell your work, we would like to have you here.
