If you are considering selling on Picster, or you have already made a few sales and want to understand where the money goes, here is how it works in plain terms.
Credits, Pricing, and the Base Currency
Everything on Picster is priced in credits. One credit costs €0.15, and the Euro is the base currency for the whole platform. If a buyer is in Australia or anywhere else outside the Eurozone, the credit price they see in their local currency is converted from EUR using the live exchange rate at the time of purchase. That means the underlying value of a credit is consistent — it does not shift depending on which market a buyer happens to be in.
Buyers top up their credit balance in one-time purchases. There is no subscription, no monthly commitment, and no pressure to pre-load a large amount. They buy what they need when they need it.
The 50/50 Split in Practice
When a buyer spends credits on your work, the commission is a flat 50%. Half goes to you, half goes to Picster. There are no tiered rates, no performance bonuses, and no penalties for newer sellers. If a file is priced at 10 credits — worth €1.50 at the base rate — you receive the equivalent of 5 credits into your wallet.
That split does not change based on how many sales you have made or what category your work falls into. A photograph, an illustration, and a digital art print are all treated the same way. The simplicity is intentional: you always know exactly what you will receive before you set a price.
Requesting a Payout
Earnings accumulate in your in-app wallet as credits convert to a Euro balance. When you want to withdraw, you request a payout directly from the wallet inside your Picster account. Payouts are sent by email transfer, so the address attached to your account is where the money arrives.
A few practical things worth knowing before you request:
- Check that your payout email address is current and correct in your account settings.
- There is a minimum balance required before a withdrawal can be processed — small residual amounts sit in the wallet until they reach that threshold.
- Processing is handled by the Picster team, so it is not instant; allow a few business days.
There is no automated monthly sweep. You choose when to request, which means your balance stays in the wallet until you decide to move it.
One Other Thing: The Featured Queue
Payouts aside, visibility on the platform is worth mentioning because it affects how quickly earnings accumulate in the first place. Picster runs a human-curated featured queue rather than an algorithm that simply rewards whoever pays for promotion. Work is reviewed and selected by the team. That will not suit everyone — it is slower and less predictable than a paid-placement system — but it does mean featured spots reflect editorial judgment rather than marketing budget.
