If you are considering selling on Picster, or you have already made a few sales and want to understand where your money goes, this post covers the mechanics plainly.
How pricing and credits work
Everything on Picster is priced in Euros. One credit costs €0.15, and buyers purchase credits in one-off top-ups — there is no subscription, no monthly fee, and no pressure to keep spending. If a buyer is in Australia, for example, their AUD price is simply converted from the Euro amount using the live exchange rate at the time of purchase. Artists set their prices in credits, which means the Euro value is always clear and consistent regardless of where the buyer is located.
This also means that as an artist, when you look at your wallet balance, you are seeing a real Euro figure, not a platform-specific token that requires guesswork to convert.
The 50/50 split in practice
When a buyer spends credits on your work, the revenue is split 50/50. If your image is listed at 20 credits (€3.00), you receive 10 credits (€1.50) and Picster retains the other half. That is the entire story — there is no tiered system, no threshold you have to reach before the rate improves, and no additional processing cut taken at payout time beyond standard payment processor fees.
The split applies uniformly whether your work appears in search results, in a buyer's collection, or in the human-curated featured queue. Being featured does not change your commission rate; it just puts your work in front of more people.
Requesting a payout from your wallet
Earnings accumulate in your in-app wallet. When you want to withdraw, you initiate the request directly inside the app — there is no need to contact support or wait for an automatic monthly cycle. Payouts are sent by email transfer, so the address attached to your Picster account is where the money arrives.
A few practical things worth knowing before you request:
- Make sure the email address on your account is current and can receive transfers from a payment processor.
- There is a minimum balance required before a withdrawal is available; this exists to keep transfer fees from eating a disproportionate share of small amounts.
- Processing is handled by a person on our end, not an instant automated system, so allow a short window for the transfer to come through.
There are no hidden conversion fees applied to your payout on top of what the payment processor charges — what is in your wallet in Euros is what gets sent.
What this means for artists deciding whether to list
The straightforward version: you get half of every sale, you see your balance in real currency, and you ask for your money when you want it rather than waiting for a scheduled batch. The main trade-off is that Picster is a smaller marketplace, so volume depends on how well your work fits what buyers here are looking for. The featured queue is curated by hand, which means good work does get surfaced, but it is not a guarantee of traffic.
If you have questions about a specific payout situation or your wallet balance looks unexpected, the best move is to contact us directly. We would rather sort out a confusion quickly than have an artist sitting on earnings they cannot access.
