Three municipal workers patching asphalt at the dead hour, their high-vis jackets catching the orange bloom of a single work lamp. The steam rising off fresh tar mingles with drizzle, and nobody is looking at the camera — everyone is somewhere else in their head. I stood back far enough that the city swallowed them almost whole.
