Plastic Outlaws at Sundown

Five LEGO minifigures stand atop a field of scattered studs as a hard white sun splits the horizon behind them, its rays cutting through a bruised pink sky like searchlights. The warm rim light catches the molded edges of their hats and claw hands, giving these two-inch gunslingers an unlikely gravity. I built this scene to ask how much of heroism is just the right silhouette against the right sky.
