Birch Bark Pressed Against Old Newsprint

I found this strip of peeling birch bark on the Espoo shoreline in February and held it against a page of 1970s Finnish tabloid I'd been hoarding for months. The way the white fibres lift off the paper feels like the forest is trying to read something. Shot flat on my light table, then layered with a scan of the newsprint underneath.
